Our Story

Built as a coaching inn in 1790, The Wheel has been pouring pints and feeding travellers on the old Wolverhampton–Bridgnorth road for well over two centuries.

The name comes from the wagons and carriages that once filled the yard out back — horses were changed, travellers were fed, and the wheel never really stopped turning. These days it's cars instead of coaches, but the welcome hasn't changed: a proper pub for a proper pint, whether you're in for Sunday lunch with three generations of the family or a quick one after work.

1790

1880s
